Additional penalties

Sainz - 10 seconds
Hamilton - 10 seconds
Gasly - 10 seconds
Albon - 10 seconds
Ocon - 30 seconds
Sargeant - 10 seconds
De Vries - 15 seconds
Tsunoda - 5 seconds
Ocon with a 30s penalty. Impressive
Still isn't right because these guys should have served their penalties in the pit stops. It completely changes the race if they had done so. Perez would not have gotten stuck behind Sainz and he might have hunted down Leclerc.
Additionally, if they had been warned about the number of strikes they were on, they no doubt would have changed their approach to the last two corners. Clearly, they thought they were getting away with it and carried on (certainly for Ocon)

Biggest moves there means Sainz down to P6, Norris up to P4 and Alonso P5. Hamilton down to P8 behind Russell, Gasly down to P10 behind Stroll

Is there a specific corner that is a good example where grass would be dangerous? I'm genuinely curious.
good example here of albon in china 2019, last turn.

pretty much every year the top 10 crash videos are people getting on the grass or astroturf.

Re: Albon, that's what's supposed to happen. Off track, loss of traction, car gets damaged. Wasn't a horrendous crash.

Hartley, second vid, same case. Not a bad crash. The grass and tire barriers serving their purpose. What's the issue?

The cost cap. Red flags, Safety Cars, VSCs...

I don't think there's a good solution to this.

Unbelievable Norris received no penalties. The guy was all over the place. Russell leapfrogs Hamilton 😂
Watched the onboards live and he was over on T10 limit at least 3 times before his second stop.

Have you got any frames of Norris being out ? He definitely was warned for it in the first stint

I can see the official result being protested too, and the new rule ‘reset’ they made up

just because the driver didn't end up in the er or morgue doesn't mean everything is hunky dory.

So what are you proposing? Every track should turn to Paul Ricard?
The issue is not that the run offs are paved, the issue is that the fia is utter crap at policing track violations.

as I posted earlier cheap technology exists to monitor limits, and if implemented properly would not require methods that endanger the drivers.

Yea, if I was Merc, I'd be going after norris just on principle, as he was off several times!

I was watching live, can't screen grab but will try at some point in the next 24 hours.
One thing I know is that I will not be the only one doing this...

This stuff is funny. Ocon +5 + 10 +5 + 10 :D

Pretty sure I count Albon 9x as well.
I think they missed a 5 sec penalty there....

That grass Timo Glock launched over a few years ago is prob not a great one..lol

That was the terrain not grass launching him. We're not saying a trough of grass, just a flat grass strip.

As for your low friction surface suggestion, I've had similar thought about using sheet or plate metal. Might have the same effect. Rubber build up might defeat the purpose. Knurling of ribbing on its surface would reduce contact patch area. Low profile metal strips perpendicular to the direction of travel might act like slides.
Oleophobic surface theoretically would be a zero friction for rubber tyres, I believe.

Maybe Aston will insist on all infringements be taken into account including all other corners this may take a while or the teams affected could apeal on the grounds only selective data was used to penalise them.

Yeah Norris was out numerous times. Yet "officially" he only got 2 track limits warnings.

I'd certainly be protesting this new classification if I was affected.
