Adrian Newey changed the front wing (again), made it a lot thinner on the down side, to suck air under the monocoque. Coulthard set a new record in Barcelona test runs, so temporarily it seemed like McLaren was back on top. Unfortunately, the car was not a serious competition against the all mighty Ferrari F1-2002.
