Overtaking Statistics for 2011

Here's the article

Basically, Buemi and Schumacher have the most amount of overtakes, respectively. The stats also show the effect DRS has had on overtaking, and the results may be surprising; they were to me.

These stats are interesting- there was a similar article on F1.com which I think was also compiled by Mercedes GP, but it also accounted for overtakes accommodated by tire degradation: http://www.formula1.com/news/features/2011/7/12317.html

I think Keith's article was actually based on that F1.com feature

Just an aside – the DRS passing stats are perhaps a little flawed. They only list the number of passes that were completed with DRS (all you can really do), it doesn't take into account the number that would have been completed even if the DRS didn't exist. This, combined with the stats that the number of DRS passes are usually pretty low says to me that this season has lots of passing because of tyres, not because of wings.
