2009 Nose

Why in 2009 Formula 1 cars nose is higher than in 2008 with big rectangular aperture?
Both RB5, Ferrari. Nose looks similar. Not like in 2008. And 2008 curved front wings looks more complicated because of two level.

Probably because the regulations were changed in between those years which required the front wings to be lower and wider and thus the noses got higher to get better airflow under the car?
