My F1 pet project... Evolution of the F1 Car: Animated

Post

Hi all, I'd like to share a little video project I've just finished, a moving infographic of all 60 years of F1 Chassis animated together...
https://vimeo.com/43233380

I also have a more traditional infographic with everything laid out around Monza...

Let me know what you think, and if there's anything that sticks out as inaccurate, its still a work in progress... thanks!

That's really excellent. I'm a big fan of good graphic design - particularly minimalist or subtle (even with the color choice). Cool blog too.

I'm curious - what graphic tablet(s) are you a fan of using?

Good stuff. I didn't notice the evolving engines and steering wheels in the top right corner the first time I watched it.

Hey, thanks all. I was a little anxious posting here to be honest, pretty sure some F1technical folk will find some innacuracies quickly! But that's OK, I want to aim for accuracy.

-Thanks a lot Crucial!
-Jersey, I have a Wacom Intuos 3, but the Intuos 5 is easily the best imho.

Really nice work. I would suggest adding engine sounds from each era as the time line progresses - is there a reason you haven't done this already?

I recently picked up one of their Bamboo tablets just to get my feet wet. For as much as I've dabbled in graphic design over the years I never really did the tablet thing until recently. I like it.

If I ever upgrade, I'll make note of the Intuos.

Outstanding video. Brilliant graphic design - concept and execution. Better than most professional studios.
Concerning tablets - I use a first generation Wacom Bamboo for most everything - especially rough masking and general editing. To express elegant flowing brush work I use a large, inexpensive, off-brand Monoprice ( approx 12in X 10inch drawing area) which compliments Painter 12 nicely. I'd like a large, top of the line Wacom - but can't justify the expense.

Excellent video and blog! What a great intro to the forum, welcome.

And to really get the most out of the video, one must watch it at least three times.
