Dream F1 calendar ?

Post

As the f1 Calendar is slowly being littered with medicore tracks that are filled with huge run of areas (IMHO). I thought to myself what would be my dream F1 calendar, so here goes.

Rules.
Any order
No more than 20 and no less than 10
F1 cars have to have raced around the circuit before

1.Interlagos, São Paulo, Brazil (Opening round)
2.Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia
3.Imola, Italy (Orignal circuit)
4.Fuji, Japan
5.Magny-Cours, France
6.Monte carlo, Monaco
7.Spa, Belgium
8.Silverstone, Great Britain (Old Circuit)
9.Paul Ricard, France (1988 layout)
10.Monza, Italy
11.A1-Ring
12.Hockenheimring, Germany (2001 spec, old Circuit)
13.Nürburgring, Germany (Present day track layout)
14.Shanghai, China
15.Istanbul, Turkey
16.Montreal, Canada
17.Greater Noida, India
18.Suzuka, Japan (Final Round)

Whats yours ?

Sorry if there is already a topic like this, i did look.

I would probably include the Indianapolis oval just because an argument could be made that the World Championship should have such a race.

I agree with canning Albert Park. It's a bit ho-hum. I hope your Osterreichring is the old one.

I would replace Magny Cours with another French circuit. Charade looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

I would replace Fuji with another... maybe Anderstorp? I think it's a fun circuit.

Lastly, if we're dreaming, I see no reason we can't use the old Spa and Nurburgring.

Like I thought, f1 cars used to race the Indy 500 so why don't they bring it back to f1 as a special race! :D

I prefer my F1 drivers living so I wouldn't push for the Indy500 unless they used restrictor-plates. I like the rest of the list though but I would add Kyalami into the mix.

I had to cheat some.

Australia - Adelaide
Japan - Suzuka
Malaysia - Sepang
China - Shanghai International
Abu Dhabi - Yas Marina
Germany - AVUS
France - Paul Ricard
Italy - Imola
Monaco
England - Donington
Portugal - Autrodomo do Estoril
Belgium - Spa Francorchamps
Canada - Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
US - Laguna Seca
Mexico - Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez
Brazil - Interlagos

This is actually the order I'd run the season in. If we're going pure fantasy then I'm using the AVUS of 1959. Yas Marina is a hated track, but it's absolutely gorgeous to look at and more importantly... I think it'll come into its own this year. Paul Ricard is preferred over Magny Cours. When it comes to the US there's not much choice so I fudged it. Indy sucks, Watkins Glen is incapable, and CotA has yet to be seen. So I'm going Laguna Seca and cram it if you don't like it. Either that or Miller Motorsports Park, which I think would be perfectly suited to F1 cars.

Not really that few. I mean he's had his hands on A1 Ring so that should count a half point. Istanbul, Sepang, and Shanghai are all solid circuits for F1. Abu Dhabi is better for GT or touring car racing (I though V8 Supercars worked well there). The only REAL turd in my estimation is Bahrain.

I'm with Mikey, I would love to see an F1 race at Bathurst in Australia, Jenson Button did a lap last year.

1. Interlagos - old layout (mans layout)
2. Suzuka
3. Osterreichring
4. Spa
5. Spa [reversed] Now wouldn't that be something?
6. Silverstone
7. Kyalami
8. Sepang
9. Monza
10. Hockenheim - old superfast layout, so that team can run similar car setups for two races in a row.
11. Imola
12. Canada
13. Laguna Seca
14. Circuit de la Sarthe - screw the rules, im dreaming.
15. Donnington
16. Nurburgring - current layout
17. China
18. Mont Tremblant
19. Charade Circuit
20. Watkins Glen

Or, if we allowed team to expand and become even larger operations, we could have constant racing and no off season! Check out this list of tracks - some of them make me drool. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Fo ... e_circuits

Actually, my I would use the Westschleife layout proposed by Red Bull before the idea got canned instead of the original osterreichring.

I think Indy500 with restrictor plates would be a good idea for f1!
