Have cars distributed around the track at the start. They all start at the same time and if any car is caught it has to drop out of the race?
That would minimise accidents due to overtaking etc. Cars would have to pull out of the way as soon as the trailing car gets within say 6 ft of them.
Or stagger the starts just like in motorcross, and the way they do in time trials?
I'm all for the excitement that overtaking bring but it's also exciting to watch Picture-In-Picture moments showing cars positions at defined stages. Though we don't get much of that in F1.
Some sports show an 'overlay' of the other cars postion in relation to another car at predefined points so you can visually see the gap, rather than just a number.
