Nothing ever came close beauty-wise, other than John's Chaparrall 2K of course, only thing missing is Ronnie's blue helmet.

Meh, I would even put the E21 fairly low down this year, let alone ever. This year, I think McLaren and Ferrari hit the beauty nail on the head, but they're not the most beautiful cars ever.

Really like that car. It strikingly looks similar to current car design. Simple, but very elegant and without the out-of-proportion front and rear wings.

Personally, the mp4-23 will always be the best. The absolutely perfect correlation between the aero/bodywork design and body paint is just fantastic

Ferrari F300 (1998): I loved the black front wing combined with the Goodyear-tyres and the typical Ferrari-red. Moreover the car improved so much during the season, a piece of art imo.

Image

Ferrari F2008: Simply stunning, I loved the color scheme (a lot more red than between 99-2006) plus all of the wings and winglets looked really cool.

Image

McLaren MP4-27: The most beautiful McLaren since the rule changes in 2009, loved the nose they've used until Spain, but even afterwards the car looked so much better than the other cars. Shame they didn't win the championship seeing as the car was not only beautiful but fast aswell.

Image

Williams FW25: Once again an amazing livery and the most successful car of the BMW Williams era.

Image

Lotus 72: Jochen Rindt + this stunning piece of art - do I need to say more?

Hi guys,

although born in 1984 and started to get aware there is something called F1 from 1994 onwards (German-born Schumi socialized. Remember, F1 wasn't much known in Germany at that time), I tend to like cars more from the mid-80s to the mid-90s. Just realized there is a pattern to my choices albeit some exceptions: wide (2m), low noses and sidepods (anybody with me thinking that the sidepods nowadays are just too high having virtually the same height as the tyres?!) and clean looking cars.
When viewed from the side (!) the upcoming 2014 cars do look to some extent like low nosed pre1994-cars, which I like, the nose tips just went too high from 2009 onwards. I am more than aware that this post is mostly redundant, but it pretty much sums up my interpretation of a good-looking f1 car:

My TOP5 out of that bunch:
1993 McLaren Mp4/8
1992 Williams FW14B
1986 Lotus 98T
1991 Jordan 191
1995 Ferrari 412T2

1979 Lotus 79 (and yes, on this particular car I absolutely love the Martini livery + Andretti's stormtrooper-like helmet)

That's an MP4/22.

It looked much nicer than the 23 as the 23 had those huge bulbous head rests either side. Also the 23 airbox was a lot less sleek.

But I am with Phil1984, early 90's cars looked the best. Up until 1993 I would say, then they went downhill.

Even the 93 Williams looked marginally better than the 1994.

This is the 93 FW15(D) in 1994 colors and I think the sidepods look much nicer than the eventual 94.

F1 car width now 2.0m (same as 1993-1997). Lets go crazy and bring the 2.2m cars back (<1992).

I've always liked the 1982 Ferrari 126c2, but actually I don't have a nice photo to post.

Btw., was this taken at a test or why is Mansell in the car?

Of everything posted, it's still hard to beat the 191 Jordan. The design and color looks great. The second hand Honda chassis that SA used looked great in their livery. The Eagle is hard to beat, too.

Alonso's Minardi PS01. A superb chassis, a crappie 3yo engine (Stewart F1 Cosworth from 1998).

And its predecessor the Minardi M02, a chassis years ahead of its time with a 2yo mediocre Cossie:

9th fastest race lap at Indy...
I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

The Mercedes-Benz W05

How good did the car look under the lights in Bahrain. Probably my favourite looking car since the 09 changes, and with the slightly narrowed front wing. =D>
