Honda returns to F1 in 2015

Post

I expect Honda to be back at least by 2015, but more than likely sooner, with Mclaren.

Maybe... at least strictly supplying engines is at least conceivable. I wouldn't say that OEM's are exactly rolling in money these days, and throwing money out the window into new motorsport development has got to be a bitter pill to swallow at the corporate level. Difficult to justify the ROI.

Is there any time limit for engine manufacturers to announce their entries?
Or is it like an F1 team changing brake disc manufacturer?
If yes then maybe they are doing a stealth approach for 2014.

I'm doubtful. Honda always looks in-house for the leader of its F1 programs. Maybe Gilles Simon is working for someone else perhaps?

I'd like to know too. Can they homlogate later?

If so, what would stop Renault 'leaving' the sport just to have Nissan replacing them with an updated, newly homologated engine?

Who is Osamu Goto working with these days? Was a major player in Honda F1 engine design, then went to Ferrari then to Malaysia (Sauber). Then?

motorsport-total.com/f1 mentioned months ago, that honda has a V6 turbo engine on their engine test stand since mid 2012.

More likely WEC than F-1.

yes, a WEC for sure but that does not exclude the existence of a f1 engine.

He was working for Petronas seconded to Sauber wen they had ferrari engines. Not sure if he stayed during the BMW years and is still with Sauber as a consultant or if he is watching F1 from the comfort of his living room

Well, with that I guess we've transitioned from wishful thinking to a proper rumor.

When did the whole Pure project collapse? As stated in the article? I never heard or read anything. :wtf:
