F1Technical Racing [F1T]

Post

Carry over from here: http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... 45#p468345

So, let's get serious (or maybe not) and discuss the creation of the "F1Technical Racing" under the humble abbreviation F1T and get into F1 in 2015, thus grabbing the opportunity FIA has released graciously.

for starters ... the name can't include F1 .. so F1T won't work.

we could code name it. I go for FIAHaters. It's all about having your intentions in a name.

Who would be organising the parties? As we all know from the example of Red Bull, the quickest way to get succesfull is to throw parties in your first years in F1.

I would like to apply for the job of screaming at our star driver during the race to get the f*ck out of the way.

Never mind, Fox will deal with MrE on that one when we get there.

But first of all, we need manufacturer-support on the engine-side, who could be gullible enoughP

BMW is not interested, PSA is broke and GM is occupied elsewheres; Hyundai perhaps, how difficult could it be?

I think Richard Leeds will want that job; it's fitting for him.

Let's ask some Chinese consortium. There should be some funds for F1 somewhere.

I'll do the nose jobs!
Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)

How about we call it USF1?

As for drivers, I'll nominate myself. It can't be much different than driving an S2000, right? Plus, I'm good at Gran Turismo, which now has Spa! So I'll get to practicing...

Guess you want Cocles as your race engineer?

Manchild would be the perfect man to make us some livery. Hope he reads this.

So basically, where do we start in setting up a team? First we need candidates for the key positions. Given that xpensive will basically be TD, who else does he want around him? Any candidates to be chief designer?

Then we need a budget. Can anybody make an estimation of the amount of money we need? How much for which department?
I would also suggest trying to find an existing wind tunnel we could use. Which are the ones that are available for customers to be used? However, with Ferrari back home, Toyota at Cologne may have some spare capacity! And that's a more than decent tunnel.
