Manor Racing: between Rossi/Haryanto/Stevens/Werhlein/Magnussen

Renault: Palmer and either Pastor or Magnussen.
I've not read anything like a time frame for driver announcements, can you give some kind of link to your post? I'd love to read whatever you've read. Ta!
Haryanto said in his press conference Manor would announce their drivers this week coming.

Alonso coming back to Renault for the last years of his F1 career would be a dream, but I don't think it will happen.

I hope that KMag will get Maldonado's seat - he is a quick, down to earth young man and if Renault brushes his edges a bit as they did with Romain, it would be a serious contender to a WDC.

the question now,

"Where will MAL resurface?" (if he ever will... )

Manor is too low for him. So ... Sauber, Findia...Willimas, Indycar?

I'd replace Raikkonen with him.

Well, all the seats are reserved except the ones at Manor. I think even those are not reachable anymore for him since it's clear PDVSA is not going to sponsor him with the same financial backing anymore, if any at all.

He'll probably will go abroad to a different motorsport.

seat reservations tend to expire pretty quickly in F1 sometimes... but I think we won't see him on F1 grid next year ...

If PDVSA come up with half they paid Renault, $25M, I would say Maldonado is a dead cert for Manor.

That fee would pay their engines for the entire season, and help the team galvanise for future championships.
Maldonado would remain, and PDVSA will halve their investment to retain their interest in the sport.
And we get to debate about just how "terrible" Pastor is. Win, win, win, win.

The losers would obviously be Wehrlein, or any other driver who'd be incumbent in the seat.
But, Wehrlein is a Mercedes protege and current DTM champion, so he'll likely end up at the silverarrows in the not too distant future.

I still rate the chances quite low: PDVSA is experiencing huge issues with both the economic regression in Venezuela, and the low international oil prices. Furthermore, PDVSA is milked as a cash cow for the government. With the cash cow now going dry, and with high civil unrest, I don't think they can motivate sponsoring Maldonado any longer.

In all honesty, PDVSA is a very sad story of corruption that threw an entiry people into poverness. It gets even worse when Lotus actually promotes it while being absolutely blind to the unethical practices of the company:
The New PDVSA is the most authentic demonstration of the sovereign oil policies of the Venezuelan people
http://www.lotusf1team.com/partners/pdvsa/pdvsa/

Yeah sure... the Venezuelan people made those policies. Sure, sure. #-o

Puhlease, F1 is soley based on blood money.

And the Yankees would love to get their hands on all the Venzuelan oil (but the chinese are first now ), and of course Chavez Marduro were/are socialist facist tyrant nutcases that destroyed their own country, but at least they did it to and for their own country.

Get over it.

Really? That's a pretty rotten attitude. Venuzuela is in pretty bad shape.
