I like bhall and all, but the questions only arise when there's a number 1 and a number 2 driver and the number two had to give his wing away and such. The more serious questioning (and perhaps even some of the answers) to Vettel's greatness comes from years like 2014 and 2016...

It's been an interesting turn of events, looking forward to Rosberg defending his Numero 1 on the nose of the W-08.

When you are torn between choices, always pick the one that will make the best story. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Doesn't look like he has the balls to defend it http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/ ... ampionship

I bet Rosberg was inside this thread and he got tired of all the undeserving thing...so now we all go to the Silly season thread to discuss who's gonna take his place! I'm in for Wehrlein...although Alonso will be blown away by the news :P

I'm sorry guys, but this is actually quite hilarious  . I think this will be the only time the pro- and contra-rosberg people will be in agreement, with the former wanting to defend his title and the latter wanting to see him utterly fail at it.

More circumstantial evidence... not saying they did, but man the fact that Wehrlein remained unsigned is one more straw indeed. Let's keep an eye out and see where he goes.

I think as long as engines don't inexplicably blow up, things should be good. Parity is the only thing the guy's ever asked for. Unlike some of his teammates.

We are going to centralize the discussion into one thread. Currently the retirement of Rosberg is being discussed in 4 different threads, which seems quite overboard. Let's say we do it in the separate retirement thread:
http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =1&t=25508

-Discussion about possible replacements can go in the silly season thread:
http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =1&t=24041

-Discussion about the title continues in the dumpster thread:
http://www.f1technical.net/forum/viewto ... =1&t=25483

One final word from Rosberg about the sacrifices he made to give him the chance to fulfill his dream of becoming an F1 Champion.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/formul ... blank.html
He paints a picture of a man who squeezed out every drop of his talent in a one-off attempt to do what he had never managed before in any series: beat his old karting pal over the course of a season.
By sacrifice, he raised himself to a level of intensity he could never hope to replicate.
One small example: ‘I stopped cycling in the summer to lose one kilo,’ he says. ‘The next race I was on pole in Suzuka by one hundredth of a second. One kilo is worth three hundredths per lap. So I was on pole thanks to losing my leg muscles. It got me the win. Those were the small details I went into.’...........
I would have posted this in the Nico retires thread but it is currently locked.
