They have to hurry at Francorchamps...the first event is planned half May and normally the works will be concluded than (if the weather allows it)!
Can't wait for September and the Belgian GP

Why are they tearing those homes down? Are they in the way of something?

They better not touch Eau Rouge or else I'll go in there and demolish all of their trucks.

Yeah, they were in the way of idiots. More synthetic all-concrete tracks is just what we need

That's horrible! Those beautiful homes are just as important to the history of Spa as the racetrack itself. Correct me if I'm wrong, but could those houses have been the same ones in the movie Grand Prix?

Same houses. I hope one of destroyed houses isn't that old restaurant or gasthaus, just between Stavelot and Blanchimont on the right side...

...and there was one memorable on the left, just after La source.

If houses and buildings in Monaco can stand there and not "impede" safety why were historic houses at Spa much further away from the circuit destroyed?

It's pretty strange to see them tear those houses down. They are in fact not homes are no one lives there anymore. Some of these are used as restaurants during the event.
Tearing these down is odd because here in my city you can hardly imagine what buildings in the centre are filed to be protected for the sake of the historical view. However, they are not that special at all. On the other side of the language border (so in Wallonia) they do this to a classic circuit. I guess it's never ok for everyone, but the inverse would seem more logical to me.

Anyway, if it's needed for a bigger pit complex I can understand the situation. Even in previous years Spa modernised quite a bit for visitors as the shopping area and paths were improved. You can't avoid this evolution while aiming to keep one of the best GP races in the world.

Is that bit that looks like an infield section off someother track the go-kart track?

Why are they desroying the houses lived in or not. They are trying to get every track to look as boring as the desert of the Bahrain track
