GAME RULES

F1Technical 2007 Fantasy Game is based on the 2007 F1 season. The game will start scoring points from 17th Mach 2007 (qualifying day of the Austrailian Grand Prix) and will finish on 21st October 2007 (race day of the Brazilian Grand Prix). Points will be scored for all qualifying days and races between these two dates.

1. PICKING A TEAM
First you must choose a team name. You have a total budget of €50 million to choose a team comprising of the following:

3 x Drivers
1 x Constructor
1 x Engine

Each driver, constructor and engine is given a value based on previous performances and their potential for success during the 2007 season (i.e.: the most expensive drivers, cars and engines will be those predicted to be the most successful).

Once you have selected your complete team you must submit it to start scoring points. To submit your team just PM Sebbe.
Deadline to submit your team will be March 1st 12.00 GMT.

1.2 Prizes
The Winner will get a budget increase of €5,000,000 for 2008. Second place will get a budget increase of €2,500,000. Anf third place will get a budget increase of €1,000,000 for 2007.

According to last years final standings these are the budgets for the following teams.
1st Place: Team Tomba Renault (Tomba) 2007 budget: 55.000.00 €
2nd Place: Space_Hopper (Ms_Spencifer) 2007 budget: 52.500.00 €
3rd Place: DTR (TP) 2007 budget: 51.000.00 €

These budgets cannot be transferred to any other team. A change of name is allowed but not a change of ownership of the teams.
In case of one or more of these teams decide not to contest in this year’s Championship the prizes won’t be granted to any other team.

2. HOW TO SCORE POINTS
Scoring starts from the Australian GP onwards. Fantasy points are allocated based on the performance of your drivers, constructor’s cars and engine.

2.1 Drivers
:: The driver who completes the fastest lap in the 3rd qualifying round will receive +10 points.
If a driver receives an engine penalty he will receive points based on his qualifying lap time.

Example, Fernando Alonso sets the fastest time in the 3rd qualifying session but has a ten place grid penalty for changing his engine he will still get +10 points.

2.2 The Race
:: Each Driver will be awarded 1 point for each lap completed in the race.

:: Each driver will generate +2 points for every position gained from their starting position on the grid to their final placing. Drivers will not lose points for losing places between the starting grid and end of the race.
Example 1. David Coulthard starts the race in 5th on the starting grid - and finishes 1st in a race. He has moved up 4 places so will gain 8 points.
Example 2. Fernando Alonso qualifies for pole position, but has to change engines -and so is penalized 10 places on the grid- and finishes 2nd in a race. He has moved up 8 places from his starting position, so will gain 16 points.

:: If a driver does not gain / lose any places from starting grid to race finish he will be awarded +5 points.

:: Drivers that finish the race in the top 8 positions will score points as follows;
1st - 10 points
2nd - 8 points
3rd - 6 points
4th - 5 points
5th - 4 points
6th - 3 points
7th - 2 points
8th - 1 point

2.3 Constructors
Each Constructor has at least 2 cars in the race -you will be awarded points based on the performance of both cars.

:: +10 points for car finishing the race
:: +25 points for both cars finishing the race
:: Additional +5 points per car for finishing in the top 8 cars in the race.

2.4 Engines
You will be awarded points for the performance of your chosen engine.

:: +20 points for each car with your chosen engine finishing anywhere in the top 3 positions in the race.

Example. If the top 3 are; Ferrari [Ferrari], Mercedes [McLaren], Toyota [Toyota] - then the Ferrari, Mercedes and Toyota each score 10 points.
If the top 3 are; Ferrari, Ferrari, Mercedes -then Ferrari score 40 points, Mercedes score 20 points.

Team director vyselegend is very proud to reveal the birth of the Losange racing team to the press.
Details of the team structure will be submited to FIA CEO Mr. Sebbe, as soon as Mr. Berger will reveal his driver line up, because, erm-, those are the only ones I can afford with my remaining budget

I still don't understand why you only get 10 points extra for winning a race, whereas you get 60/70 for completing a race?

Okay everybody we know the rules and regulations..so why are people still wondering about them. It makes it more exciting with the score being done on the merit of the driver to complete the raceand move up in position with whatever car he has. Plus if you look at other F1 fantasy teams..its done the same...Lets just introduce our teams and wait for the new season
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

In a shock move Rhode Island Red Racing have been bought out by Tom Dawson Motorsport, this is a shock, not because RIRR were actually going to put any effort in this year, but because TDM are actually taking this a little seriously!

Team owner/janitor/alcoholic Tom Dawson will be announcing the driver line up, engine and chassis manufacturers in the near future. The team will retain its chicken livery and Tequilla sponsorship.

A new team this year is going to be unveiled in a second but this isnt exactly a much anticipated unveiling. This team has two aims 1) to come within the top 3 and 2) to beat TP a long lasting rivalry has erupted between team director Dean "Deano" Close and him after all Deano did help build the previous years team for him. So now the unveiling of the team name Corsa Equipaggio Deano Italian for Race Team Deano and further announcements of the team will be unveiled at a suitable time.

Thank You all

Prepared for launch!

Today marks the launch of the new title sponsor of the Saw Squad. The event was held in a dodgy night club in Chelmsford. Although Team principle Paul Rose could not confirm the drivers, Chassis or even engine he was proud to present the teams new image. He also disclosed that that it was a good excuse to get drunk and get scantily clad girls to dance around abit. Which he believes is what got them 5 place last year, When asked about his some what off the wall stile of leadership he only commented that "The guys work better the more women and drink we have around".
Before the Unveiling of the new title sponsor and the logo. Paul was asked about his view of his drivers performance in 2006 and what the line up might be for next year, "last we worked hard but due to some personal issue with our drives we have decided to go different ways, Scott Speed and i have not spoken since the last race of the season, Rosberg after a promising start developed and addiction to crashing, he is currently in rehab amd will not be part of our line up for 2007" Paul Was then asked about Jenson Button he replied "We are currently in talks with him, but we do have other options".

So the moment that everybody has been waiting for the presentation of the new title sponsor for the 2007 Season.
