Would you follow Ferrari & Renault if they split?

Simple: if Ferrari and Renault split from F1 and create their own series, which TV "shows" will you watch?

I hope they will revive sportscar racing together with BMW and Toyota. Full bodied, high-tech, 3-liter prototypes of the kind we had in the early 70s with Ferrari, Matra, Alfa Romeo and Gulf-Mirage! :D

Hmm.

If a series was setup, then Toyota would join, and then I would see further teams join, probably leading to this idea of FOTA F1.

In that case I would follow it, however it depends on which teams join. In any case I am most likley to follow the route Jenson takes and/or the former Honda team.

edit - xpensive, we can only dream of such things.

Ciro, what do you mean be follow? The real problem is that I don't think worldwide TV coverage would be readily available.
If I don't have a chance to watch new series on TV, does checking website count?

I used to follow a single team but now I just want good racing and a good sport - call me old fashioned.

I think there should be another option to choose:
It depends of the rules they have.

The current F1 regulations just suck that much that
I think the new series has great chances to be much better.

Especially when you hear rumors about planned rules like
no refueling allowed, no tire warmers or a budget cab.

Especially the rules about the on track behavior are quite important.

There shouldn’t be to much punishments for little race incidents,
no additional punishments for engine or gear box failures,
pit stops during safety car should be allowed at all the time,
there should be restarts and T-cars again after a heavy start collision,
team order should be allowed,
points for everyone who finishes the race, so position fights at the end of the grid will also be important.

Still dreaming of course, but wouldn't that be a little more in line with "Manufacturer's" image?

But while we're at it, can you imagine another Sebring 12 or Monza 6 hours with that kind of machinery?

From the Ferrari web site via grandprix.com (emphasis added):
Ferrari says that it has received "numerous messages from its fans from all over the world" in support of its decision not to enter the FIA Formula 1 World Championship in 2010.

"I want to thank you personally for the numerous messages of support we received from all over the world over the last hours on our website and via email," Luca di Montezemolo has written on the Ferrari website. "It is important to know that we can count on the support of our fans all over the world and that our fans completely share the motivations, which brought us to take such a decision. If we were forced to leave the championship we were part of over the last 60 years of our history and where we set all the records in terms of victories, it is because they want to change the nature of its founding values.

"If it really was like that, then I have to say that our cars will race in other competitions, where - and I am absolutely convinced about that - they will find the enthusiasm and the passion of millions of fans, following us in every corner of the world. Racing is part of Ferrari's DNA and this is something that will never change.
