Bernie Ecclestone, F1 supremo, has shown interest in buying himself in to the predominately American based CART championship. "I have had chats with (boss) Chris Pook on what could and couldn't be."
The CART series, that celebrated Montoya and therefore Villeneuve as champions, has lost a lot of his poppularity lately, after some drivers and manufacturers have switched to arch rival IRL. "CART needs a door opened right now and I am prepared to bring in the right people who can do that," major CART shareholder Jerry Forsythe explained.
We can only guess on reasons for Bernie, but he might be recruiting some drivers to F1 after a while... to be continued :wink:
