Our aim is to produce the fastest electric racing car in the world and one which show cases some of the best technology in the electric car industry.

Special technology aspects:
    1. - Qualcomm HaloIPT wireless induction system
where coils positioned in the floor of the vehicle start juicing the packs when placed over recharging pads in the pit garage. Safety concerns have been central to the design process, with the team ensuring that the batteries discharge on impact and that fire risks are eliminated

-Suspensions Energy Recovery Dampers (DSERD) developed by Multimatic’s
Similar to the concept of regenerative braking, whereby deceleration energy is stored rather than dissipated, Multimatic’s DSERD technology converts road input energy into electricity that is stored in a capacitor for later use.

320km/h? Electric technology has got some catching up to do...

To be precise the top speed is 204.2mph or 328.6km/h (world land speed record ). Under Technical spec is just raw calculation...

How fast does it drain and how fast does it charge, if we would lets say put it in a scenario of Le Mans 24hrs. Going flat out at 320km/h for a long period of time gotta drain alot ?

If they were to run this at Lemans they'd need some sort of hot swappable battery pack and I'd imagine they'd be pitting every other lap to have it changed out.

Ask Nissan regarding Le Mans. They are doing something similar next year. I have heard the plan is to swap out the battery packs.

I actually thought of this car when Nissan claimed to be fastest Electric car a week back. I guess they can remove that false marketing now ....

'Wireless charging' Maybe a system which charges the battery every time it goes past the pit wall?

640KW X 30KWh. Won't take you too long do drain it, right?

They sad that they can in the "RACE MODE" push the car about for 15 min.

Yes quite that. But Car must be stationary to take full efect of charging...

http://www.draysonracingfe.com/technology.html?Wireless-Charging-3 wrote:Qualcomm Halo WEVC technology is not limited by the need to accurately park. Precise alignment of the ground and vehicle charging pads is not required. The unique patented Double “D” Quadrature design of the charging pads delivers high energy-transfer-efficiency even if the pads are misaligned. This high degree of tolerance in both the vertical (z) and lateral (x,y) planes means drivers do not have to park accurately or need complex and expensive on-board alignment systems.

Here you could see thees "pads" and electronics...

If you reffering on any sort of mismatch... This is differed category according FIA rules :D : . LINK http://www.fia.com/sport/competitions/f ... ed-records
Using its B12 69/EV Le Mans prototype, Drayson Racing managed to set the land speed record for an electric race car in the FIA's sub-1000 kilogram (2,200 pounds) category, with a final top speed of 204.185 mph.

The speed beats the previous record of 175 mph was set by Battery Box General Electric back in 1974.

4.For Le mans they sad that in qualifying they will compete for pole with others LMP1 prototypes like Porsche, Audi, TOYOTA, Rebelion... For the race they sad for advertising purposes they will just make couple stints. I think that would be nice "gesture" in matter how to promote electric technology which, will show current condition of battery tehnology (sarcasm) :D .Here article quote:
Can the car really run as fast, if not faster than a conventionally powered LMP car?

Yes. Using Lola's sophisticated simulation tools, engineers are confident that the car will be as fast, if not faster over a single lap. The immediate aim of the project is to prove this.

How will car be charged and how long will it run before it needs charging?

The car will be charged on charging pads that will be available in the pit garage. The initial target is for the car to be used for short “time attack” runs and not for racing and has been designed to optimise its “qualifying” performance.
