That's not exhausts. The silver one is the pipe from the compressor of the turbo. It feeds air to the intercool which is not present in the picture. The black one is the intake to the plenum.
From a rear view, don't the exhausts suggests a clockwise impeller?
If so, the silver tube to the left of the engine would be the Turbo intake, meaning both that and the standard intake would be connected to an airbox to the left of the engine with the compressor output heading to the cylinder heads....

Looking at the rest of the layout, it can't be. It must be pipe from the turbine to intercooler (not shown) on le left as Holm86 said, but what's going on with the exhaust entering in the same corner the turbine output is coming from??
Surely that would have the turbine spinning in the wrong direction?
Random thought: a differential between the impeller and compressor as the takeoff point for the MGU could mean reverse the spindle direction in the compressor?
There's much more longitudinal depth to the Merc Turbo (in the images they've released) vs the Renault, so may there be something to that?
