I'd put a strong bet on McLaren and Hamilton here.

Their car handles well in cooler conditions and high downforce high speed stuff.

3. BUT

I'm curious to which valencia sector does the Silverstone track resemble?
It looks a bit like sector 3 at Valencia where Williams were the best all weekend

If I was Maldonado I would be pretty pleased to only be docked of the 1 point at Valencia in order to go again with no penalty at Silverstone, they could be strong there

None of them really. Silverstone is 70% about high speed downforce, something that Valencia doesn't really have. Though sector 3 is certainly the closest.

Isn´t Mclaren supposed to come with a upgrade package there as well?

I think they will be mighty around here, Lewis was very fast in Barcelona in the high speed stuff.

Yep, agreed, plus Silverstone will be cooler than Barca.

Silverstone has a mixture of high and slow speed corners which, as at the previous race at Magny-Cours, puts a greater importance on a well balanced car.

Balance ? Oh God .. I pray for Button :(
I predict more comfortable Mclarens and I don't expect Red Bulls to be very far

My (nearly baseless) prediction is that Red Bull will take pole and the checkered flag. Vettel was murdering everyone in Valencia.

I looked into my crystal ball and saw something most of you guys will not be pleased with.

Still not comparable. The corners in S3 Valencia is comparable, but S3 in Valencia includes two bits of heavy braking which aren't present in Silverstone.

I agree that the McLaren will be the one to watch, with the Lotus in close pursuit, as I expect the extended lateral loadings to help ease their "unable to heat tyres in extreme cold" situation.

However I'm reserving judgment until Saturday morning. It will be interesting to see how the RB8 now fares on high speed circuits.

Personally I think the race will end as such:
Vettel
Hamilton
Schumacher

for another all-champion podium.
