Reading this and considering the events in Malaysia I tried to recall who the last No.2 driver was that was content with his role. Being the apprentice seems to be of no value to the folks behind the wheel anymore. I think Perez is closest to fitting this picture. Though I doubt there will be any statement from him or the team saying so.
Moreover I don't see anyone at the moment who is willing to be a mentor like Stewart was to Cevert. Although, of course I don't know what goes on behind the scenes. It just seems to be bad business today to be or have a No.2 driver.
I guess what I'm saying is that some of the guys in and out of the cars should relax a little bit and stop pretending they're all these uptight success machines all the time. Good sport can make the headlines aswell. And sponsors love headlines...
