This is my preview poster for Monster Energy Racing's 2012 challenger the MER-VW1, it has been made on Google Sketchup however it has not been completed. It is meant to look the way it does, and hopefully the car will be launched on 7/02/12. Be sure to check out http://formulasketch.co.uk/! :D :) Image

Nose is definitely too high in this pic.
I've found a way of ducting exhaust right to the diffuser edge like in 2011 and created a new wheel fastener that could allow sub 2 second pitstops see them here --> My 2013 F1 Concept Project

Thanks guys for the feedback. Many people have said that the nose is too high, however you ARE allowed to have it a 550 all the way. Sorry for the typo :L :D

i think its too high or the tyres are too small. the top of the monocoque/nose is almost at the top of the tyre. look at the ferrari which is using the max height and see how much lower their nose is on the tyre.

Looking at the B-B bulkhead, it looks like its at 550, if that's so then it seems to be legal.

So the whole thing is at 550 along the top? Fair enough. Anyway original sidepods you've got there, might be a bit worried about high CoG. Reminds me of the Renault of 2009 except you've got a HUGE undercut.

yeah, I'm working on new side pods at the moment. Unfortunately I still have to do a beam wing, and a diffuser so the side pods are the least of my worries. Remember this is just the launch car. I'm planning to have a major upgrade soon...

I think you may be lacking some rear downforce.
Grip is a four letter word.

This is my 2012 challenger for the Formula Sketch championships. I have never attempted something so hard and after nearly 5 months the car is ready. A big thank you to Andy for the endless tutorials and explanations  , and Dan who also helped me. Also thank you to Ivan Bianchi/FerrariIvan who helped with many parts too. Image

Tell me what you think,

I like it, I like it a lot. Those sidepods look tiny!
