so heres how far i've got. Anything i'm doing wrong or any suggestions so far? Ignore the area around the cockpit and sidepod entry there not done at all. I'm asking more about the rear end

looking good, do your exhaust outlets aim 10 degrees up and out? or are they straight forward?

Your diffuser needs more of an aerofoil shape I think

well at the moment its just a straight slant, and the vanes are just straight, rather than curving out (with them being straight makes them almost useless) you need to curve your diffuser, and curve the vanes outwards

ok thanks. I'm stuck trying to end the bodywork around the gearbox, any suggestions?

there is also a fillet plugin you can download to make the sharp edges round.... if u want any help with modeling the diffuser send me a pm and ill help u out!

i''ve curved the strakes in the diffuser slightly, is this what is meant?

Also i've added a shot of the exhaust exit, hope this shows the angle(s)

Not a bad start.
Why dont you re-shape the gearbox if your finding a solution hard?
