How much room do you have between the monocoque and the front face of the gearbox? If I understand correctly, the length of the engine (and whatever subframe you create) will only affect the fit of your bodywork. Everything else is flexible, being attached ahead of, or behind, the engine.

An LS-series V8 would be the most compact big engine you could fit (like what run in LMPC). How amazing and unexpected would it be to have that sound coming out of the Earth Dreams car?20B dimensions:

Sponsorship may be another way to complete your project. You could turn up at races and car shows with a new sponsor livery. Say, find a biodiesel supplier and drop in a turbodiesel. (again, how cool would that sound?) Find a battery or electric motor supplier, convert it to all electric.

730mm length x 627mm width x 717mm height
