I see that the BBC lost the court case trying to maintain the confidentiality of the Stig.

He is Ben Collins, a Formula Three driver.

Pesonally, I think it a shame that he chose to break his confidnetiality agreement. I hope they get a new Stig for the next series, and also get better legal advice in drawing up the contract!

The Stig thing is just a gimmick which has long since ran its course. In fact, having watched the series of Top Gear that has just passed I think the programme has run it's course in its current format. They should bring back the old style Top Gear.

I tend to agree with you. And then we have the cowboys who try to emulate the silly, planned stunts.
And as for Ben Collins, there are very , very few who did not already know who the Stig was.

Typical of modern society, blame the TV for the behaviour of young idiots when it is clearly the parents fault in most cases for not properly educating the offspring.

I knew it was Ben for quite a while now. But it's a shame the thing now known by casual public too.

Btw, why the heck are they referring to him as former F3 driver?! After F3 (2001) he went on to more important racing series and never stopped racing. Recently he joined RLM in the Le Mans Series and have already won a round at Protimao.

That is silly. You can as well ban all the sports, television, cinema... and just about everything else.

There was a speculation that Ben Collins is the Stig, and now that they revealed it I'm not that surprised. Rubens beat him on the track as well

BTW, so there is no more "Some say..." and "All we know is...", right? Are they gonna say all we know is he's called Ben Collins!!!

Yes! we must BAN BAN BAN it imediately! How DARE they have fun in cars!!

Looks like the anti-fun police are out.

Having said that the last 2 series have been dire, not because theyre irresponsible, but because its tried and repeditive at this stage, and some of the jokes are cringe worthy.

Its the predictability that has caused the problems. There have been some gems, the Robin Reliant piece was brilliantly filmed & directed with perfect comedy timing.

I think it's the right time to bring out the new stig - THE GREEN STIG! Wearing all green of course, drinking less petrol, emitting only organic stuff, these are a few things among others that can be part of the new 'legend'.
