Formula 1 fuel

Post

Longtime F1 fan but have not heard anyone speak about the fuel used in F1 cars. Does anyone know what type of fuel is used and is it standardized for all ? Know that a certain amount( one liter, I think) is needed for tech to inspect after qualifying and race.

This thread has most of your bases covered:

 What is the Specification of F1 fuel currently using?

And no it is not standardized, same goes for the lubricants. Although they do have very tight restrictions in place despite the multiple suppliers.

Have you not payed attention to the supplier logos on the cars? Shell, Mobil, Total, Petronas, etc.

Did not mean it would be the same brand of fuel but a standardized chemical makeup that has to be adhered to. And is it a fuel which could be used in other cars(race or street) or because of the RPM level of Formula 1 is it specialized to the sport ?

Max Octane number of F1 fuel ?

The rules that we are directed to via the supplied link seem to show that (max) Octane number is unlimited !

Please feel free to enlighten me in this matter, maybe I need better glasses.
