I'm currently a car designer based in England and i've designed an LMP 1 car in my spare time. See what you think...

that car is impressive, I was watching it with open mouth, incredible!

Loving the front arches, even comes out usefull too in high downforce trim, allows much bigger dive planes and I think it's shape might be much more efficient then regular shapes.

Would love to see some bigger pictures of the car.

Very very good work.

Have you had CFD done on the model?

Love the centre nose fin, will definitely reduce drag, and would be great for a track like la sarthe, as there is very little time spent under yaw, although wind may have an effect.

I like the rear bodywork, although it'd be very nice if it was a little more curvy :D

P.S THOSE FRONT ARCHES ARE EPICLY COOL

Would you gain downforce by turning in high speeds with these arches?

My brain says yes but then again the other side of them is more or less a big wall.
Anyone with the slightest aero knowledge that could explain the pros and cons (if any) of these arches.

I´d like to see more pics aswell of this car! more closeups etc.

The front arches are designed to send air around the front wheel instead of over to reduce lift. I evolved the concept from my masters project here:

I'll post some pics from the cad in the next couple of days to show some more detail and the underbody etc.

Ok but let´s say you turn at 200km/h

that means you have one big side pushing against the air, while the other side (inside shape) is not vertical but rather angled,

Surely the air as you turn would go diagonally over the arch instead of if you were going straight ahead where the air gets splitted by the very edge of the arch.

I would imagine you would "scoop" up air differently while turning then going straight.

Not sure this makes any sense but when you get some better pics i could photoshop my thinking :)

Holy crap, just clicked the link :)

Evolved from that? Looks like you devolved instead because that thing looks insane :)
