So refreshing not having to hear about DRS zones or mandatory tires this and that.

Very quick laptimes, btw.

...althought the decisions by the stewards seem to be just as baffling.

I'm just back from the track and had a great time. The Audi's had noticeably more grip than anything else. Especially through Maggots and Beckets.

I don't even take the pole as the reference because that's an average of laps. The fastest lap of 2014 was done by Audi and was 42.5. Porsche did 39.5, so that's indeed 3s. However, it rained Saturday morning, which meant the track was green for qualifying. How much would a rubbered in track account for, 1 to even 2s? LMP1s improved way more than F1s over 2014/2015.

I'm glad I didn't watch the Chinese GP to focus entirelly on the 6h of Silverstone. This race was so much better than anything F1 has produced in recent years :D

A really good race yesterday, it made the F1 race look poor. The Audi/Porsche fight, and the differences between where each car is fast on the track was great to watch. =D>

I agree , but I think they need to fill the grid with more LMPs etc and get rid of the Astons etc..the're just too slow , the speed differential is too high. They were lapped every 15mins which led to lots of near misses , offs and of course the penaltys.

Yeah 10 seconds nearly between lmp1 and lmp2 and same again lmp2 to gte. Like adding f1 in with gp2 and gp3. Such a grid would be huge.

Whats the difference in fuel consuption between lmp1 and f1? Lmp1 re fuel so carry less fuel between stints but if they both ran 100kg fuel could lmp1 complete f1 distance and if so what effect on their pace?

LMP1 fuel consumption depends on what hybrid class they are apart of, but the fuel flow limit is around 24 g/s compared to F1's 27.78 g/s. I think LMP1 uses a control fuel as well?

IIRC, LMP1s carry 60l(I'll assume 45kg of fuel) on full tanks. Their stints lasts for around 50 min, iirc. I think if they could carry 100kg, they would be able to cover more than the 300km of an F1 race distance.

LMP1's were covering 34laps per hour, at Silverstone. F1's GP have 52 and, doing the math, that would take around 1 hour and 32 min for the LMP1s to cover, which could be done with around 83kg of fuel, if the stints really lasted 50 min.
