Autosport has put up the first shots of the new GP2/11 chassis made by Dallara, powered by Renault car that will run on Pirelli rubber.

I must aggree that it looks alarming like the Hispania F110 chassis, but will arguably be quicker than that car i think.

It is similar to the HRT chassis but the nose is a bit wider. Looks like the front of the Ferrari with the rear of the Sauber.

Practically, an F1 tailender with a heavier and less powerful but maybe more torquey engine. It even shares tyres with F1 cars...

Don't the GP2 cars have a profiled underbody? I'm liking the F1 car looks...

The two vertical fences look too out of place. They really take away from the lines of the car.

The new Gp2 car: Now with more pylons!

Looks really good though otherwise, reminds me of the Sauber, which to me is one of the prettiest cars in this years field.

throw the cossie in the back and call it an F1 car? I wonder how far away it is to the new F1 cars at this point.

No, you are thinking of Formula 2 cars (not GP2 cars), which incidentally have chassis built by Williams ...

GP2 cars (at least up until the end of 2010) have venturi channels...

It would be a shame if they went away from that design for the 2011 car because that, to me, is a big reason why the GP2 cars can race so close together.

Made by Dallara? Same people who made the HRT car?

That's what I thought... it will be interesting to see how much over-taking there is in GP2 in 2011; F1-style front and rear wings with a profiled underbody.... could point the way to future F1 regs if it all works out...

The car will most likley be refined a good bit more untill it comes out of cover at Abu Dhabi.

Personally, id like to swap the Renault GP2 engine that is a 4 Litre V8 that has about 580bhp for the 2.4 Litre Renault RS27-2010 V8 that produces a rumored 740hp. It would go like stink, and arguably be up there with the better mid-feild teams. It would at least be faster than the HRT car.
