Hi, My name is Marcus and have been a F1 fan pretty much whole my life but bigger fan in periods and right now im in one of those periods. I just discovered this site and found out that many of you sketch up models etc.

I just want to know if anyone have done or could do a 2009/2010/2011 car sketch with the 2008 front and rear wings? The reason is that I wonder how it would look like because Im a really hater to the new cars (they look like bloody F3cars/toycars/lawnmovers!)

If anyone could send me a link of an existing image or do one her/himself, I would be thankful!

btw, sry for my bad english!

The only thing I can recall is the pre-2009 Mclaren test car that had the 2009-spec wide front wings with the 2008-spec wide-low rear wings.

you can google "2009 mclaren test car" but most are head-on, but you can tell the low rear wings are there with the wide fronts.

here is a vague photo of the test car.

if you find any, perhaps from other teams, please post! I rather like the clean lines of 2009+ cars, but the tall rear wings are silly!

The first two still have chimneys and CART wings etc. The last has those removed it seems. (and the rear brake ducts covered???)

THIS IS HOW ALL F1 CARS SHOULD LOOK!
I've found a way of ducting exhaust right to the diffuser edge like in 2011 and created a new wheel fastener that could allow sub 2 second pitstops see them here --> My 2013 F1 Concept Project

Well, IMO, Both 2008 FW and RW are much nicer than the 2009- wings!

The last image there looks like an MP4-24 with the MP4-23 rear wing... look at the Airbox intake, its not the 2008 version and the sidepod inlets are different too. From 2009 testing perhaps?

Thats an FW30 with the test 2009 wing on it. If I remember correctly, that front wing was a modified 2008 wing meant to simulate the lower DF of the 2009 wings...

I know it's kinda desperate to try convince people now that it was wrong with the 2009- cars but isnt those Mclaren MP4-23K pics showing us what the ultimate formula was?

No winglets and small pieces that creates drag.

Wider Rear wings, better lookin.
Narrower front wings, I thought they looked kinda cool with the upper bridges.

Slicks
Maybe DRS would be more effective on a wider rear wing?

Well, I guess we just have to live on with the awful creatures we have now...

I say Keep the 2011 front wings and bodywork, but bring in 2008 rear wings :)

They have grown on me since 2009. I think its because the ideas were pretty basic and plain compared to now.

pre 2009, the cars with all the winglets etc looked like technical works of art and i will always like them for it. But I'm not minding the current set of cars now they are a bit more complex as they learn new things.
