Question about the suspension attachment to the wheel base !

In recent years they have actually been moving the lower wishbone up on the wheel hub to just below the centerline. This helps with the high chassis height with no keels while still keeping a horizontal lower wishbone for geometric and aero reasons.

So basically, it's not "as low as possible" but "as low as the aero people will allow".

For F1, anyways.

Pretty much yes. I guess you can play around with roll centres and camber gain at the hub.
