Happy new year

After a few of months since my last photo comparison post , the new year finally fired up our F1 interest once again .

This is the first set of the photo comparison between Ferrari F2008 and last year's F2007 ,

Who would've thought they'd ever see the day of an f1 car having fake spoked wheel covers? Looks ridiculous.

The undercut sides on the nose that matches the upsweep of the front wing looks good. Must also help with having more unequal length suspension arms that aid geometry.

Thanks bar555.
Great pics for comparing development.
Can anyone explain the body bulge just above the exaust & below bar code logo? It's v. noticable in the 45 deg. view.
Nose cone bottom area looks slimmed down from 2007 and Abu Dhabi shareholders name given more prominent location here.

the bulge...

I am curious as to how the new transmission cooler inlet is arranged inside the airbox. That along with revised airbox that may help the "frozen" engine make some more low end torque.(traction control issues) The longer exhausts hint that this is exactly the effort of ferrari. I cannot see any other component that would occupy the space underneath the bulge as it is pretty high up and would upset the center of gravity... but I could be wrong.

Good stuff, very nice report - and thanks.
The new Ferrari seems to be a lot of small re-designs/improvements as opposed to a 'new' car, what do you guys reckon?

In its launch-version, I'd agree. Then again, there are already going to be a lot of changes pre-season as announced, and last season the launch version didn't last long either :).

On a sidenote, something I hadn't noticed during the 2007 season, but the roots of the pre-T-wings (they would be chimneys on most other cars) we're elongated towards the front of the sidepod. That's what makes this 2007-2007dev-2008 triple-comparison so useful :).

I can't find many changes except for a few like the airbox inlet, nose cone, rims and a couple here there.

Is Ferrari continuing with a longer wheel base?
Racing cars are neither beautiful nor ugly, they are beautiful only when you win races.

There are many more changes than you are able to observe , simply you have to take a closer look . Also it is still difficult to know what is happening under the skin , unless you have x-rays eyes :!:

Through this thread i will try to highlight as many differences as i can , no matter how similar they may look .
