NACA Aerofoil

Post

Hey everyone,

I would like to get dimensions of Aero foils for a flow simulation in ANSYS Fluent.

Can anyone help me out on this.

Thanks in advance

This little tool might help:

http://mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/javafoil.htm

Just generate a foil with the desired characteristics, plot the points in Fluent, then interpolate with a nurbs curve. Then create your mesh, and off you go!

How can I draw the profile in ANSYS Fluent... Like dimensions??

Do you know which shape of foil you want, and which size (chord length, thickness)? Once you know that, enter it in the applet interface, and it will give you a list of coordinates for a certain number of points along the foil (you can choose how many).

Now go in Fluent, enter the points one by one, and then link them together with a nurbs curve. That will give you the geometry of your foil.
