So Andrian Newey is officially over at Red Bull and possibly agreed with Ferrari. One thing I dont understand is why doesnt Mclaren try to at least make him an offer to silence all the bad mouthing. People are claiming that Newey doesnt go to Mclaren because he doesnt believe they have the resources to be champions again.
Because they don't want to disturb the team they have and they have faith in the team.
Quite! The team management have taken a strong stand of building around key personnel with internal promotion, bolstering only where necessary with new signings. We won't know clearly how the Rob Marshall appointment is working for a while yet, if and when specific acknowledgements are made. There is a strong unity going here from Zak down, and including the drivers. The question of why not try to sign Newey is fairly simple. It would shift focus from the growth well under way since James Key and Andreas Seidl were let go more than a year ago. It would present issues with a management structure instigated by TP Stella. It would be questionable how and where Newey would fit in and what sort of role he would want in his likely last F1 assignment.

I am sure Zac has chatted in somewhat relaxed style with Adrian as they are friends with a number of common interests. If there were a natural affinity then that would be the way things flowed, Adrian won't be able to be shoe-horned into something to suit any team, he will be the master of his own destiny at this point. Personal chemistry will count for quite a lot too, it's been said that Stroll senior is the stumbling block at Aston Martin, just by way of example.

Very punchy, considering how conservative his comments were pre-season. Not just from Stella though, this optimism is coming from several within the team. The numbers must look really good back at the factory.

On another note, why haven't we seen the car yet
no pics from the paddock yet except drivers arriving to the circuit for media duties

It is just rehashing what Stella said at the start of the year. 1 year to resolve the issues means 1 year to catch Red Bull.

I think Stella is playing it low key so maybe the car is being kept in the garages away from prying eyes or rather, cameras.
If the earlier stories of "every aero surface" being new then there's good reason to keep it under wraps until they leave the garage for the single free practice session. Anticipation builds.....
EDIT: It's still early morning Thursday in Florida.

Very accurate comment. I have nothing to add.

It'll be a livery. The guy announcing it was the creative designer for and founder of OKX.

Pretty sure livery changes come out of their cost cap, so you’ll never see wholesale one off livery changes like you use to.

over on the ferrari thread someone said its marketing so not in the cost cap?
honestly seems like we've had a lot more special liveries up and down the grid in the last 3 years SINCE the cost cap
