If Negative Norris thinks it'll bring a 'reasonable step' they might be challenging RB with this upgrade package.

I'd expect the front wing at least.

We may also see a suspension geometry change and the flow conditioners behind the front wheels in the earlier upgrades released.
To change the geometry of the suspension, you need to pass a crash test. It's unrealistic.
Totally realistic in fact 🤣
What has changed in the suspension, apart from the aerodynamic pads? Have the mounting points remained the same or have they changed?

That is a huge upgrade. Both suspensions changed, both wings changed, new beam wing, new sidepods and a new floor. I hope for half a second or more.

On another note did the team copy Red Bull or was this upgrade on works already?

Practise Session 1 and let's see if they can show us something good from the new upgrade though that might have to wait for the Sprint Qualifying.

It will be interesting to see how the upgrade works… But it’s definitely comprehensive… Interesting too that McLaren saw the change to an overbite on the sidepod inlet as well as Red Bull and it’s starting to maximize that concept

On the other hand, let’s wait even a couple of races for them to dial up the new package completely

Norris claimed that something with steering isnt right. Its easy to turn left and harder to turn right. Oscar now mentioned the same.

Looks like with all the upgrade excitement they forgot how to assemble Landos steering #-o
Just a fan's point of view

Oscar had the same steering problem but I hope it's something that can be solved quickly. After all testing is to solve whatever gremlins appear.

Advantage McLaren if Leclerc has no practice to nail setup. The red flag also gives them a chance to fix the steering perhaps

Red Flag in practice hurts everyone equally because the time still ticks down, unlike the other sessions.

Not ideal by any means, but at least they can work while others are not gaining data as well. Weird problem, seems like they are not sure what caused it since the power-steering system apparently does not have anything wrong.

Is it possible the new suspension causing something?

So Zak Brown pretty much confirmed that the team has a plan to return to championship titles and never thought of Newey from what I understand.

Great to see the team pushing for upgrades. Even though it being a spring weekend they will not have as much time to dial in the setup, it shows they are pushing hard.

So is this confirmed to be the first real work from the new tunnel?

Zak pretty much ruled out a Newey return to McLaren so we can stop talking about that now. From the team radio coms, it seems like both drivers have similar feedback regarding the setup direction. Seems inline with Stella's comments. This upgrade isn't really tackling their main weaknesses, so the car feel/characteristics are largely similar.
