Lotus E23 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

But you can see Office 356, so Microsoft is still a sponsor.

I see they haven't put a number on the lower wing on the stand. Presumably so they put it on either car if there is a problem. they may as well just put Maldonado's number on it from the start :!:

Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Probably a result of being conservative with the cooling. They'll get better as they develop the car, once they understand how far they can push the cooling.

As I said before car was drastically underdeveloped whole testing. No pushing any limits. From cooling, from size of sidepods, biggest airbox along Toro Rosso. Using last year front wing, last year rear wing. I dont know how can car be faster and how more downforce than last year car if you use same components from last year.

Yeah, it's my question. :) The front wing and the rear wing are the same than last year. We must believe that 2014 front and rear wing wera aerodynamically good... :wtf:

Somebody know the cause of this premature end of Grosjean race ?

Is it a engine problem ?

Loss of power, they retired immediately to prevent losing PU.
Heard caused by "peripheral" of enstone, not directly belonging to engine. But no official clue.

Do you think Lotus will changes the front wing and the rear wing of its cars because it's the same than last year ?

It's really strange because the nose is so different than 2014 E22
