What makes you think, that Nico broke the contract?

I was in the Dominican Republic earlier this year, and several people knew who Lewis was. If anything, Lewis is well known, because he is the most open about his personal life.
I can agree to that Dominican Reference 8)
Lewis is a friggin Hero in the Dominican Republic. Everybody knows him - not kidding!

Yes. Do you know his contract? There could be a clause that he used. That he broke his contract, is just an assumption.

To say he didn't break his contract is far more of a ridiculous assumption

Are you kidding? If you're a marketer, this is a dream come true.

Lewis: Rockstar F1 pilot and celebrity globetrotter.
Nico: Retired F1 pilot, and committed family man.

Though young, they are lifelong rivals and at difference places in their lives, with similarly demanding yet very different values, wants and needs for themselves, and for their cars...and all of them can be found in a Mercedes.

All of this aligns perfect with why Mercedes is in F1 in the first place: win on Sunday, sell on Monday.

So many clever ad storyline possibilities. This is gold if you want to do more (and more effective) adverts.
Oh that's good. Mercedes could praise its more luxurious, family cars with Rosberg, while the more sportive side could be promoted by Hamilton.
And they could use Mika Hakkinen for the classic cars.

They've got Sir Stirling Moss for those ;-)
Coulthard for the busses (his family business)

But who for trucks? VanDoorne almost shares his name with the founders of DAF, maybe a good buy for Wolff?

Alonso to be leal to Honda, so don't dream to much on a Hamilton-Alonso team mates in 2017 but end of 2018 who knows, Mclaren progress would have that call.

Can you share a link to Nico's contract?

I'd love to learn how he broke contract and seem to be unable to find this fact out myself.

More curious is why didn't Mercedes charge him a penalty to break contract?

Well...I asked my English colleague, why he supports Ham and his answer was "because he is British". :D

No, not at all. If you have a contract without "walk away clause", then they rip your ass open if you say "I will not come to work tomorrow". At this point you simply pay the salary to the company.
There is surely a retirement clause, otherwise he would have needed to at least ask if he is allowed to retire.

My father, who is also English, dislikes Hamilton intensely.

I'm an Aussie and I think he's a knob too, but I still admire his driving skills and talent.

I think people need some education if they come to see something else in F1.

Now they're apparently 'considering' Alonso:
- Yesterday not keen, today considering,
- Yesterday hahaha everyone's calling us, today it's so tough, we were put is such a hard spot.

Mercedes will be spitting out contradictory nonsense every day for weeks milking attention. See how useful Rosberg leaving is? Wehrlein resurfaced, mentioning him (well he mentioned himself himself ;-) ) in the context of the best car is an insult to this sport but who cares, as long as they spell your name. Even Ecclestone got some spotlight.

Lewis is disliked so much in England because us English hate a winner. Like the masses of people that hate Phil Taylor or Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Just the way it is.

By the look of it, Lewis will be disliked even more next year if he has some support from a team mate.
