To change the radiator layout would involve a lot of repackaging elsewhere as well as new bodywork. Far simpler to leave as is for the purposes of testing the engine and re-evaluate for next years carian_s wrote:i'd be shocked if the radiators for the mercedes PU would just plumb straight in to the honda unit!f1rules wrote:well its does say "that some technical options for next year are already on the car." if they plan a new radiator layout for next year, im sure they will run it or...
=D>The chassis has been designed to maximise the information the team and its new technical partner can gather from the installation of the all-new power unit.
It means that the team's definitive 2015 car, the MP4-30, can be developed in isolation to maximise its aerodynamic potential ahead of the new season.

Sorry for straying off topic but the bbc article said at the bottom that Mercedes have improved their engine to a lap time gain of a second!! Is this believe able? And is this under the current restrictions???KingHamilton01 wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/30060635
Stopped once during this shakedown, very positive vibes! so for all the doubter's trying to say they are not prepared and don't have the engine ready to run, they are clearly wrong. Can't wait to see them run at full throttle and hear the engine on track finally! =D>
Better than a Renault winter testing disaster then...mclaren_mircea wrote:http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2014/11/ ... ated-tosh/
"In the interim, the real news is that McLaren has been at Silverstone doing “a filming day” with Oliver Turvey at the wheel of a McLaren-Honda. Apparently the filming opportunities have been rather limited but the car has run rather more than some of the F1 teams did when they had new engines to play with last winter."
The rumor is they gained close to 10% on the ICE. I have no clue if that equates to a second a lap, though.CjC wrote:Sorry for straying off topic but the bbc article said at the bottom that Mercedes have improved their engine to a lap time gain of a second!!
