In isolation, nothing is fast, because everything is simply at a benchmark. Your comment amounts to nothing more than "when put relative to a road car the HRT is fast"... well no ---, if there was a single F1 car slower than a road car there's something seriously wrong (unless that road car is a Zonda R, but we'll ignore that). The bottom line – the HRT when compared to cars of the same category is horrifically slow, and even when compared to the category below is horrifically slow. Saying "well it's faster than a road car" doesn't amount to much.

Yes – but the 2011 HRT is 2-4 seconds a lap slower than the 2010 one ;)

What I find interesting is, if they would make the pit straight the DRS zone, it would put the DRS detection zone, probably, around the last corner. And that would eliminate the last corner as an overtake opportunity, as whoever is ahead would be defenseless on the pit straight.

Well, I am not so sure about the turn 1 being so bad place for overtaking. It's very wide and the changing radius gives the possibilities of many racing lines. I remember last year there were some nice manoeuvres there. We'll see.

We don't know that yet, they haven't done anywhere near enough laps to even get a baseline setup.

I am not judging until after their 6GP, until they have at least 3000km on the clock of the F111 in other words, as then you have more than enough data to go on. Personally I can see them up with the Team Lotus T128 by the time they have that distance and beating Virgin before Turkey. That would embarrass everyone at Virgin, and damage them to depravity.

Here -- and in another thread -- we have had a LOT of posts all arguing that the HRT will be next to last rather than last. So? Should they be proud to be "not the slowest car on the grid"???

i would think they'll have the detection zone before the braking zone for the last corner, that however would mean that the attacker could overtake into the last corner and would still have his DRS open down to pit straight, either to attemp again into turn 1 or to defend himself.. difficult one i think

I would like to see Sauber do well here.

I think they deserve a good finish after their disqualification in Australia. their car in my opinion has got the makings to be competitive this year.

Also watch out for Renault
Their car looks like it's got some real pace after Petrov's wonderful performance in Australia.

Every team (except rbr) is claming that they will do better in Sepang.

If every one does better, then the pecking order wiil be the same as Melbourne.
