Lotus E20 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I'm still puzzled by that thing just behind the bargeboards, where the exhausts took place last year...
What do you think about it ?

Yes I mean the wishbones, they are definitely circular, never seem that before, they should be like a neutral aerofoil.

n smikle: osmium is too heavy I think

Blackout: do you mean that little hole where the exhaust used to be? It's for KERS I expect, Ferrari have something similar.

what says all on the performance.
Car is looking really good, testing or not.
Missed so many days and they are at the sharp end.

Mercedes is behind this team. The lotus was in fact a better car last year, had it not been for the Achilles heel exhausts.
This year i guess we will see how the car should have been without the weakness.

This car is the darkhorse. It's design is simple, but it's very coherent and there's nothing gimmicky on it.

About those holes, i'm not sure what they could be. If it's testing related or an actual part of the package.
For Sure!!

I don't mean the hole (there is no hole in fact) I mean the shape witch is behind the barge-boards and in front of the floor (and slightly lower than the floor), exactly where the exhausts were last year
It is not visible in the top view picture but visible in the little rectangles

Looks like a hole that forces air under the floor?
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.
