Funny thread name ;)

Not only has he dominated Button in Qualifying, (6-0) he´s also ahead of him in the standings even though he´s never won a race this year.
When things go well for both guys, Hamilton will come out on top every time. Because he´s a better driver all around.
He can do everything Button can, and then some. Button can´t do everything Hamilton can. Simple as that.
Saving tires? He proved that in Spain.

Also consider how many problems he´s had this year which has cost him many many points.

Hamilton sits in a good place for tomorrow. Webber will bin the start, Rosberg and Hamilton move up to 1st-2nd.
Unless Webber manages to cut off Hamilton.

6 races in, almost proven the original title was appropriate. Give that man a cigar.

They switched around the original title because they wanted to gamble against me. 8) haha.

Sometimes the unexpected becomes the expected. It will be clear to us by midseason though, guys are gonna be saying.. I should have seen that one coming!

Well I haven't seen that coming definitely. Though I think Kimi's still a bit rusty :)

I don't think Kimi has ever really been a quali specialist - Massa was often out qualifying him at Ferrari, instead his best performances have really come in races where he's able to often out think the guy in front and put his car in front at just the right moment.

I think kimi is being hit by the no testing rule ;in the past he has been able to get the steering feel he wanted by trial and error during testing , now it could take half the season ; he's a racer , and that takes a steering response he is absolutely sure of ...I sometimes wonder if button doesn't have the same problem

Pseudo-article on Hamilton possibly leaving Mclaren at the end of the year.

I personally would love to see him head to head with Vettel. So we know who´s the faster of the two.

^ Every new team c0ck-up on the pits can only add further fuel to such rumors. Ultimately, it will be a question of whether Lewis feels £60M for 3 years will be compensation enough to sit on the car as a lame duck, with the team's incompetencies/shenanigans tying one of his hands behind his back & handicapping his WDC title bids.

The reference to PDR in the article though has me scratching my head. Good as he may be, Di Resta is not yet a top driver
who can bring equal value to a team like Hamilton does. He'd make a good McL #2 (a'la Kovalainen), but then that would put so much more burden on Button who, given his struggles of late, isn't looking anything like a strong #1. At most, Paul would only seem like a 'no-other-top-drivers-available' distant Plan B, in case Lewis does indeed decide that he's had enough cr@p at McLaren.

I've stopped counting. I think it's no joy for Lewis beating this year's Button... When will Button bounce back now ?

In terms of total qualifying time to their respective teammate, Massa has actually done a better job then Button.

Over 7 Quals, Hamilton is 4.343 seconds quicker then Button.
With Ferrari it´s 3.601 seconds between Alonso and Massa.

Both of which has dominated their teammate in Qualiyfing with 7-0

I like Button, however, he can't hide behind his nice guy persona forever. His performance this year, with the exception of Australia, has been worse than anything Kovelinnen could have done. I actually believe Button is harming the development of the car, his engineers are wasting far to much time trying to make the car drivable for him, at the expense of making the car faster.

When asked in an interview, after his 10th place qually, about where on the traces he's seen is Lewis gaining time on him, he responded.. "Everywhere"

Ouch. His confidence has been smashed, it seems.

Button has a good sense of humour, so sometimes he takes a dig at himself. I for one, really cannot imagine what is causing his performance all of a sudden? Is it the close competition? The Asafa Powell of Formula 1? Leads when competition is away from him, and runs as anybody when conditions are perfect, but introduce a frenzy of competitors and he cracks?

That's highly unlikely.

It may seem counterintuitive on the surface, but I think the tires are playing a significant role here. Button's style is centered around taking care of the tires by being as smooth as possible. Hamilton, on the other hand, is much more aggressive. In short, that means Hamilton has the experience and the ability to drive on worn-out tires, because his driving style demands it. Button does everything he can to avoid the worn-out tire experience, but that's simply impossible this year.
