Caterham CT-05 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

They must have tried to fit it with the turbo on. At Redbull they fitted the engine first then the turbo and anciliaries.

Presumably because the mounting points are not where they were meant to be... But the car was meant to have been fired up days ago, what's going on here?

For anyone who can answer. Why is the car called CT-05??? was there a CT-04 that was scrapped or what? Or did Marrusia purchase the Ct-04?

Has anyone noticed a different front wishbone geometry? The mounting point of the upper and lower wishbones aren't in horizontal layout (0 degree)but look more like 30 degrees, Are they trying to induce more airflow to the undercut in sidepods using wishbone as flow directors.

All Renault teams (and I presume all other teams with different engines) are provided with an accurate fully built sample of their engine. but looking at the "design" of the caterham, it would appear that different designers worked on different areas, so probably it was the ancilliaries such as rads, coolers etc, that caused any fitment problem.

I cant see this car being faster than gp2 cars anytime soon. It looks like a cargo boat, and has the detailing of one.

Because this (Caterham Aero Seven) is designated CT04

Why are the internal suspenesion parts on the caterham sticking so far out from the chassis. I have never seen anything like this before. This must mean changing the front wing will be much slower?
