To be honest Ferrari/McLaren/Mercedes all look fast at the moment with the Merc powered cars looking solid...Williams shows nice pace too.

It seems that Caterham made the most laps on Renault engine? Don't they experience the same problems as STR and RB?

Interesting that Caterham can put the laps in. I saw a lot of comments saying that their loose packaging shows they have cooling 'problems', but really it showed they were trying to *avoid* cooling problems.

Maybe it's because they're going around slowly, but I'm sure Red Bull would be going around slowly if they could do it safely.

Mercedes change schedule and Lewis Hamilton will drive the Mercedes this afternoon as Nico Rosberg takes a break after completing a full race simulation this morning
After a race distance for Nico this morning, Lewis will drive this afternoon to even up mileage this week

Hamilton will join in the afternoon and even up the mileage according to Mercedes twitter.

He did quite slow laps, 1m37s and 38s, fastest was a 1:36.9. I imagine fuel-saving to make it to the end of a race would cost at most a few seconds per lap, so for all we know he could have been in extreme fuel-save mode with these times*. Your conclusion sounds nice for Mercedes fans, but it not really supported by the data. Sorry.

*: I know the track is a little wet as well, so again: Impossible to make any conclusions out of this data. Being forced to drive slower due to wet conditions of course saves the same amount of fuel as driving slowly on a dry track.

Looking at the other times the track is about 10s slower due to rain
So a 1'27s, 1'28s in a race sim would seem quite quick to me

... on a wet track being 8-10 s slower than optimal.

Coming into this test I would not have said Caterham was going to be the best renault powered team lol.

Good for them, I hope them and Marussia will be further up the field this year.

speed at same time on track:

11:19 Rosberg is currently in the 1m38s, Alonso in the 1m40s, and Juncadella in the 1m41s. Sutil is still out there, but is doing 1m44s - the Sauber has seemed to lack pace this week.
