It's a weird qualifying system, and will lead to some very interesting strategies. The fact that if you don't make the final ten you can start the race with any fuel load will most likely lead to some weird racing. But weren't the rules to allow tire changes come after this new qualifying rule?
But I expect everyone to start the first two sessions on low fuel and soft (as close to qualifying spec) tires, and put in blistering times. Only in the last ten will we see them get cute, some will run slower times with more fuel.

I'll be in San Francisco that weekend celebrating my friend's housewarming/engagement, so no 2006 kickoff for me :(

Two fellas were sitting in the stands watching a Formula One race.

One looks over at a distance and sees a funeral procession starting across a bridge.

He stands up, takes off his cap, and bows his head.

The procession crosses the bridge and the man puts on his cap, sits down and continues to watch the race.

The other guy says, "That was touching. I didn't know you had it in you."

The first guy responds, "Well, I guess it was the thing to do - after all, I was married to her for 40 years."

If it helps, start counting down to the first practice session. That'll speed things up :)

Writing for the site helps too  But it seems so long...And I'll probably miss the start of the race because I will still be at the basketballcourt, playing my game....I will tape it for sure, but it's not the same :(

I can't wait, I can't wait, I just can't wait. It's been a long off season, and it's now so close to happening.
There is so much to look forward to, the new teams, the new qualifying format, and of course, the action itself. The drama, the excitment, I just can't wait.
