Williams FW37 Mercedes Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Is the nose tip allowed to be so far back?

This would be option 1, option 2 would be to paint the tip black like Red Bull... it fools you on TV at least.

Sadly Williams doesn't seem interested (if anything it looks worst than what they had last year)
Yeah, they even put a Willie on the Willie.

If that's the common solution for the noses this year... Then... Bring back 2014 noses.

If this is a common solution then the FIA need to take a long, hard look at themselves... That's 2 rules now where the wording of the rules don't match the wanted intention.

They are only the governing body of a multi-million pound sport after all...

They're a bit busy at the moment trying to figure out how they fudged up the PU rules so badly...

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Clearly an evolution of last years concepts other than that, similar sidepods and body.
Scarbs drew a very close one. Blanchimont and others too.

So i've improved the livery by blackening the puzzle-piece (or cold shower-appendage).

Looks much better imho

Williams why U no did this immediately? :wtf:

Looks much better. I wonder why don't teams change the paint job on the nose to make it look better? It is not rocket science, is it?

Indeed, but in a weird twist it might be beneficial to them in the form of attention.

If the puzzle front is black, it'll get much less media attention to the weird-looking white thumb
that it is now. It stands out, and as such, gets media attention. From magazines, from fans, and from TV companies,
especially in the moments before the first race(s).

You could take the Toro Rosso nose vs the RedBull nose. It's different, but the RedBull nose got a blackend part which looks aesthetically more appealing. The toro rosso nose - and the force india nose for that matter got more 'attention' because it just looked weirder and thus got more attention.

I'd figure Williams concidered something similar but decided alltogether their 'puzzle piece' nose would be remembered better then a nose that looked more like a '14 Mclaren nose with a blackend tip.

Now, it's the williams '15 nose.

just my thoughts though.

If you look at the right front suspension (left in the image), it appears to be a standard A-arm with a thicker front section. Also unlike the W05, the front section of the lower A-arm hasn't been pushed back.

I would have loved to see some aesthetics around the nose edge. Something like this.... (Excuse the bad job)

As we have read all along, the second nose design would be illegal for 2015.
