Datasheet of Kimi's race sim by formulapassion:

Image

I did some calculations

1° stint with medium tyres: pace 1.31.080 (19 laps)
2° stint with hard: passo 1.30.460 (15 laps)
3° stint with winter hard: 1.28.694 (26 laps)

race sim time 65 laps (excluding the final lap): 1h 39m 16s
Hamilton in 2014 did it in 1h 41m 05s with a gap of 87.7s to Alonso and 1 lap to Raikkonen

race pace excluding in-lap (yellow) and out-lap (green) 1.29.890
race pace of 65 lap: 1.31.160

Wow, they've written off two months and 4 grand prix. It's quite a statement, especially when McLaren are not renowned for accurately predicting their return to competitiveness.

By the way, good work turbof1. Let's keep it about the facts.
Ron claimed victories at the start of last season.

I was expecting a mid-year return to competitiveness for McHonda, sounds about right.

I'm not sure I understand the question, anyway

1°, 2° and 3° stint are calculated without pitstop laps.

the race pace (65 laps) accounts the pitstops too

Thanks ema. That pace seems pretty good. Do you have similar analyses for any other teams?

Looking at the speed traps, Sauber for example are near 10km/h faster than Ferrari- wonder how much of that is down to just how high the wick is set on their engines versus wing config and general aero/drag for each car? ie Are Ferrari running their engine, including a race sim, at a slightly more 'relaxed' state of tune than Sauber? Comparing corner speeds across teams would help narrow things down further.

Cars that lack downforce tend to be quick in a straight line as they tend to have less drag too. I well remember Minardi topping the speed gun times back in the day, for example.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

I really want to clarify that this comment do NOT reflect my PERSONAL view, I really would like to clarify this from this very moment. I just wanted to say that some people think in this way, which is very sad. And I say this because I have seen some stupid comments about her for only being a woman, a truly disgusting cr*p.

Sorry because it seems that I have explained myself so badly! #-o :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Sure, but Williams for example are hauling through the traps and that is down to good efficiency rather than absence of downforce, etc.

What Boullier has said makes sense for me. I think they have serious problems with reliability and they will need a few races to make enough mileage to fully understand those problems and achieve to make the engine work at 100%. With the first big development planned for Barcelona they should be competitive again.

Well I'd like to believe Ferrari's race pace is 0.3 behind Mercedes but certainly won't count on it ;)

I hope that Pirellis are a bit more aggressive this year (as Pirelli predicted) once we get to representative temperatures. Was too comfortable last year which also made it more predictable.

We will see if this still works in 2015. Personally I think Willimas will have much harder times this year.

Well the good news for williams fans is this track is one of their weakest so they should be in pretty good shape.
