Well, Hamilton's hand just got a lot stronger. I don't think Toto and Paddy will be telling him he's such a naughty now. I'd love to see Alonso join Mercedes. Can't see it happening and I wonder if they might go down the route of having a less experienced drivers so as to have an easier ride of it.

Imagine Vettel + Wehrlein next year @ Mercedes,
Hamilton @ Ferrari.

But wow.
I did not see that coming, quite frankly, i don't like it either. I really wanted to see him compete.

I'll say it:
Chicken move?

Alonso is locked in his contract no? Button and Lewis work well together so that would be a cool team.
If it has to be a mercedes driver i would like to see pascal in the car, he impressed me.

Behind all the big names there is Carlos Sainz. He's not going to be in a Red Bull soon...

I'm surprised drivers can just retire with zero notice, mid contract!

Does he incur some sort of financial penalty for this? He certainly makes it very hard for the team to replace him!

Jenson Button got his 2017 drive!

Rosberg has a contract for next year. Is he to retire immediately or serve out his contract?

Oh, wow! Talking about your shock before the weekend.

I wonder which people Rosberg has as his advisors...

Maybe he watched this interview with Costa and didn't fancy it...
