Blake Hinsey, former performance engineer of Max Verstappen, has looked back on a dominant season for Red Bull Racing and Verstappen. The Briton, who was a guest on an Autosport podcast, also sees few reasons to assume that Red Bull will be more vulnerable in 2024, partly because the RB19 still had some weaknesses that can now be eliminated.

Hinsey points out a number of factors that play against Red Bull. 'You have to deal with that scale of wind tunnel time: the higher you end up, the less wind tunnel time you get. This is gonna be pure speculation, but I think solving that will be quite tricky for Red Bull, unless they have something completely new brewing for 2024. They've built a very efficient car, but it relies a lot on the suspension and floor to provide that downforce. Without a trick like the blown diffuser, i think it's gonna be very hard for them to find the downforce they need in low speed corners with the design philosophy they're currently employing. Ground effects do not work very well at low speeds.

Well, of course it's expected to be a step up in performance - and i still expect them to win next Season unless one of the other teams comes out with a rocket ship.

I just don't think they'll easily solve their three main weaknesses (tire warmup in qualifying, slow speed corners and aerodynamic performance on bumpy tracks)
