Does anyone on here know if Haas currently employs any American engineers?

Reportedly some upgrades for Zandvoort specifically aiming to improve race pace. Brake ducts and front wing

Well, if Guenther Steiner describes himself as "pissed off" on live TV after Magnussen's off and damage, I imagine that a Haas Driver is going to be informed in the garage that he is a "vanker"...

I can't help but wonder how much influence Ferrari has had on this "program"

After all, Ferrari will be looking for any intelligence regarding compatibility with suspension, tire wear, floor sensitivity, and what not before the winter development period.

Most years the Haas looks like a b-spec of the last year’s Ferrari. Maybe it will be the other way round this time. Can’t wait to see what the SF-24 beta is going to look like

Joking aside I’m surprised to see them willing to bring a radical concept change so late in the season. McLaren found a lot of pace and arguably leapfrogged their engine supplier by doing so. I’m interested to see if Haas is able to make the same gains, although I would not be so confident. I’m assuming the goal is to beat Williams to P7 in WCC

It's so close in the midfield, so any concept adding a small performance % could be a big deal.

HAAS has wasted good cars before, however. Steiner is awful, and cannot lead a team to extract the maximum from the car. He could have the RB19 itself, and it would finish 9 and 10.🙄

They really don’t seem to be able to solve problems mid-season. Whether it be setup-related or whether they need upgrades they never seem to be able to course-correct.

In 2016 they endlessly toiled with brakes and suppliers.

In 2017-18 they could not really understand how to maximize tire performance.

In 2019 they brought one update at round 5 and couldn’t work out its effect by the end of the year.

In 2020 and 2021 they barely did anything.

In 2022 they brought one update and it didn’t seem to do anything.

There does seem to be a bit of a pattern…

2017-2018 wasn't that bad on tires. Those cars were decent upper midfield, especially in 2018. they just didn't have the drivers to show it.

There was a tire change for 2019 that ruined them (and they were not alone, even Mercedes was all out of sorts at the beginning of the year, albeit only briefly on that new tire). It's been all downhill since then.

As with all team failures, it is a leadership problem. I want to like this team, but holy f***! What a clown show.

Wasn't 2019 the last time Haas brought an update to their car in-season?
