Regarding the upgrades that Mclaren did this year. Are these upgrades that Mclaren had in the making or did they simply made a full Red Bull copy? The reason Im asking is because there is this opinion that Mclaren made that big of a jump because they claimed to have fully copied Red Bull and also benefited from rule changes that damaged Aston Martin, Ferrari and Mercedes. So can someone with more knowledge on the matter give me an idea if thats true or not?
James Key has the habit of reinventing the wheel himself. Refusing to copy designs.
He was wel known about this habit at Torro Rosso/Alpha Tauri. It really helped Torro Rosso did it?
MCL is bold enough to make decisions. Kudos for that. They are building a team. And those who don’t fit, no matter the quality, are out!
That is a very good way to grow!
One individual is not responsible for success or failure of a car. It's the entire team. If the team is good, results are good. A strong leader always wants to install a sense of self reliance. It's a matter of building the culture of innovation. It's not easy, but when that culture is fully implemented, the results would be marvelous.

On the other hand, copying is easy, but as history has proven, the copies always remain behind. Did anyone see Newey copying the Mercedes cars of 2014 to 2020 as they were winning cars? You can't win races consistently with a copycat, neither can a championship be.

McLaren has been owned by Bahraini for a while now. I think they used to have a >50% stake of the McLaren group.

This is not a huge change, and it doesn't mean much for the racing team's operations.

Hows that translating for the team? I hope they are not gonna force any name change in the future.

Ah thats good. Usually when a full buyout happens they tend to fully change names. Its important that the brand historic name stays as it is. On another note should we be worried regarding that Red Bull and newly renamed Racing Bull partnership turning into yet another Racing Point copycat?

There are countless surnames in Britain, Norris is not one of the very common ones, but its not that rare

It is more common as a forname, but still not very common. When used in television or film it is used for characters that are particularly stiff, uncool or older, or many of those, more associated with Yorkshiremen if I'm not mistaken.
