Because the session was ended 2 lap early by Senna's off, the other contenders didn't their final laps in. I suspect the Ferrari and Mclaren are about 0.2 to 0.4 seconds slower than the RedBull this time.

Those times really mean nothing, anything shy of the top 8 weren't really pushing to me and Bruno just messed up the end of the session.

cool ...at least there `s hope the hacks and journos do inform themselves about technical matter ...

As for the times..you need to take the last screen shown as only there you will see the best sector times but of course not the ideal time...
Schumacher did his best laps under yellow...so it might be a second but that is pure optics.adding up the sector best shows who is quick and who is able to string a set of sectors to a good laptime.
so adding up all the optium sectors schumacher would be 9th or 10th.

Is Red Bull's use of the retarded-exhaust engine map still limited to qualifying? If so, it'd be reasonable to expect an even bigger gap emerges between them an McLaren - who use it almost constantly - in Q3, though doubtless Macca will also run a more extreme setting in quali.

Gugs you would love that to be the case but its not you know that theres probably .1 sec between them wait till qualis and lets see if your so called wisdom is correct I doubt it

Wisdom and unabashed manlove for Vettel are not mutually exclusive.

almost nobody has strung all the best sectors to a near perfect lap yet ...be it to hide potential or it is simply the fact they have done their best sectors with different settings.
Sauber looks quite slow compared to the other teams and Glock clearly has the measure of Lotus.
Could this be the event where he can drag Virginia (or what is her name?) out of the mud and show her beauty?

Now that is some funny stuff.

On topic,

747 Heavy,
How can the ultimate times be slower than the fastest times?
Im confused:
Example:
Seb - ULap - 1:47:563
Seb - FP2 - 1:46:660

So are the ULap times from FP3 alone?

Yes, these are the ultimate laps of FP3 only

The times from FP2 are on the last page

Because changing the driver they've already changed makes them look like arseholes, and if it appears to be done for money reasons it all but confirms that they won't be around for much longer?
Nonsense. Why would they look bad? Any team has a right to choose whatever driver they want for every race. This is business, it's not schoolyard kickball. Besides didn't the driver they replaced hit a pit crew member in the last race? Maybe he's psyched out a bit too. Also he might have had food poisoning days ago and be ok now (as Japaneses rags say), but a driver has to be ok from Thursday to compete properly so they changed him then.
